Back to Daycare

My maternity leave ended on May 25th. I really enjoyed my time at home with the girls. Some days were hectic but most were really enjoyable. I'm glad to be back working and I absolutely love my new schedule. I'm currently working three days per week and the rest of the week I'm spending quality time with my girls. It's a great balance. It's the best of both world's!!

The girls are loving daycare. Here's a picture of them on their first day. Emmy's first day back and Erin's official first day at Dar's. Emmy went right to her favorite toy...Elmo.

All Smiles

Erin is just all full of smiles. She really started smiling around 8-9 weeks of age. She also started cooing really well around 10 weeks. She loves to talk when she's on the changing table. This is something that Emmy did as well.


Erin found her hands around 10 weeks too. She LOVES to suck on her whole fist and is really loud sometimes!! :)

She is a very good baby. She hardly ever cries. She still likes to sleep a lot and only likes to sleep next to mommy. She sleeps in her bassinet for short periods of time. We are working on getting her into her crib soon. She gets frustrated when her pacifier falls out of her mouth.

Future Ballerina

Opening Doors

Emmy has mastered the art of opening doors. As you can see here, she can also open the double sliding glass doors in our dining room. Smart little fart knows how to pull up the chair and unlock them...I can't keep her out of anything!

Emmy's Friend

We have new neighbors next door. They are from Bombay, India and are the nicest family you could ever ask for. They have kids that are the exact same age as Emmy & Erin. They also have another little boy who is around 7 years of age. Emmy and Ann like to stare at each other at the fence line. I don't think either one of them talk or say a word to each other.
I have met their mother a few times and we have gotten the kids together to play on their swing set. Emmy just loves it. I'm sure they will have lots of playtime growing up.

Owner Abducted!

We pass this little home on the way to Brad's parents' house. I see this sign every time, but have never really ever stopped to read all of it. We've always been driving too fast to read past the first sentence...Owner Abducted!

I finally stopped to get a quick picture of it. And this is what it says...The three signs read as follows:

Owner abducted by Grant County public health nurse and then screwed out of her income by Hoffman Good Samaritan Nursing Home.
Exploitation of the elderly by the Hoffman Good Samaritan Center, Grant County Social Services, and Home Health Care Attorneys (with names attached).
Abduction? Is it legal in Grant County?

What a shame!

May Day

Emmy made her May Day basket with the help of grandma Debbie, Shelby, Maya, & Madi. They brought their finished baskets to the neighbor's house and rang their doorbell. All of the kids ran and hid behind their car and watched to see who answered the door. When their neighbor opened the door, all of the kids ran inside!!! :) Too funny!

Mother's Day Weekend

Brad surprised me with a trip to Arrowwood Resort in Alexandria for Mother's Day. We brought the kids to their indoor water park. Emmy was not too sure about all that water. She really loves her bath time, but this was just something else. It was really noisy inside the water park and with all of the kids running around, I think it scared her a bit. I let her sit back and watch for a while until she warmed up to the idea of actually dipping her toes into the cold water. The water temperature could have been turned up. All of the little kids were shivering, but refused to get out of the pool. Emmy was turning blue and her little teeth were just chattering away.

I slowly walked her into the little pool that had basketballs. She loved it and wanted to do more. I walked her around some of the fountains and then I figured she was ready to go down the little water slide. She wasn't too sure, until we actually were sliding down, she yelled "WEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!" We ended up going down the slide over and over again!

Erin was looking FAB in her little bikini. I didn't allow her to go in the water. She sat with Grandma Debbie and Brad while we were playing in the water.

We were in the water park for about two hours and then Grandma Debbie took the kids back to Hoffman for the night.

Brad and I met up with Tony & Christy (Brad's Brother). We went out for a nice dinner & drinks at The Depot.

We ended up back at our resort and then hit the hay around midnight. We got to sleep in a bit (which we haven't gotten to do for a long time). We packed up and headed to Barrett where we met the rest of Brad's family for Mother's Day Buffet.

Brad gave me a cute decorative candle with a family inscription on the front.

Erin is just starting to smile around this time. She started smiling around 8 weeks. She has such a cute smile and loves when we talk to her.
