Poor Thing

I brought Emmy back in to the clinic yesterday. She definitely has not been feeling any better. The amoxicilin didn't work. Now she has a double ear infection. I feel so bad for her. The doctor put her on some stronger medication which she will be on once a day for another ten days. I hope this works. I was giving Emmy a bottle before I put her to bed last night. I was burping her and all of a sudden...wham...I experienced the first joys of being puked on. GROSS! We cleaned up, put new jammies on, cuddled, and then went to bed for the night. She slept okay. Lately, she's been up around 4:30-5:00 each morning.
We are watching her closely to see if she has any more reactions to this new medication. It's hard when they can't talk to you and tell you what's wrong with them. She wasn't running a fever. But, we just knew something wasn't quite right with her these last few days. She definitely hasn't been herself.

Gimme Five

Spring Has Sprung

Saturday was such a beautiful day. We spent most of the afternoon outside. All of the snow is gone, but the lawn is pretty wet. We let Emmy play with the grass in the back yard and she got pretty excited. Brad was a little anxious to put out the patio furniture, umbrella & cushions. I kept telling him that this weather was just teasing us. If you know Minnesota weather, it WILL snow again soon.

First Time in the Pool

Tony & Christy brought the girls to the cities for a weekend away. We met Tony & Christy for the seafood buffet and then went back to their hotel to let the girls swim.
Emmy was not very thrilled about her first pool experience. The water might have been a little cold...she is so used to the nice, warm bath water at home! Her little lip was shivering half of the time, but it was fun to watch all of the girls playing in the water.

Standing Up

Emmy has started to pull herself up on things. She's getting pretty good but doesn't know that when she lets go of things, she falls pretty hard to the floor. She scuffed her cheek the other day when she fell. Here she's trying to go up the stairs already.

Tammy's Wedding

My friend Tammy got married in Alexandria last weekend. It was a very nice wedding and she looked so beautiful! We had fun sitting with Jody, Gui & their daughter Marilynn.
Jody, Tammy & I were roommates in St. Louis Park & Hopkins. We share so many great memories & had a lot of fun!
Marilynn & Emmy had fun playing together at the wedding.
Emmy wore this adorable dress that was given to her by our cousin Felicia & her family! Thanks Felicia, Erwin, Carlos, Nicholas & Emily!! Everyone thought that Emmy was soooooo cute in her pretty dress!

Musical Toy

We bought Emmy this toy for Christmas. She knows now that whenever she pushes the hanging ball the music will play.

Ear Infection

I brought Emmy in for her 2nd flu shot on Friday. I wanted to have the doctor take a look into her ears because she's been a little fussy, she pulls on her ears & hasn't been sleeping well at night. She also has a cold which we all caught this weekend. The doctor took a look in her ears and said that her right ear was infected but her left ear wasn't as bad. She gave Emmy a prescription for Amoxicillin for 10 days. She's been pretty happy, but at night she gets a little fussy. I've been giving her Tylenol to help comfort her as well.
Emmy puts up a little fight when I have to give her the medicine. We feel so bad holding her arms, legs & head down just to give it to her. Next time I'll mix it with some of her food.

Benihana Delight

We went to Benihana for lunch last Friday. Emmy enjoyed watching the chef at our table. She enjoyed the rice too!

Grandma Debbie & Papa Jerry came to visit us last weekend. Brad's aunt Muriel rode along with them to our house. Muriel's daughter Kathy & her family met us at our home. We all went to the Lookout for dinner. It was nice to see everyone. Kathy used to own her own wedding shoppe which is where I got my wedding dress. One of the last times that we went out with Kathy was at the horse track Canterbury Downs. Brad and I had never been to a horse race before, so Kathy gave us a few pointers. She said that we had to go watch the horses before the race and if any of them took a poop, it would make them run faster! ha ha So you can see how much we laugh when we're around Kathy.

Biter Biscuits

She just loves these biscuits.
I think she has a tooth that is about to pop through on the top. She's been a little fussy and we realized that she made the little clicking noise with her tongue the last time her bottom tooth popped through. Sometimes she sucks her lips in...like an elderly person without their dentures in their mouth. Here she's just happy to have another biscuit.

She also learned how to suck through a straw the other day. We stopped at McDonald's to get a shake. When we got home, Brad gave her a little bit.

Goofy!!!
