Swimming

Emmy finished up her season of swimming lessons right before the Christmas holidays.  She passed her "Littles I" class and graduated to the "Littles II" class.

I signed Emmy up for a later class because some nights its just too hard to get a meal made in time before we have to head right back out the door to another practice.  So, instead of 6:45, I signed her up for 7:15 pm.  The class is only a half hour long, but Emmy just loves it.  She's quite the little fish and already swimming on her own for at least 10 feet.

Her first night of "Littles II" went really well last week.  The manager ended up teaching part of the class and came over to me at the end to talk about how Emmy did.  She told me that Emmy was doing really well and already knew the things that they would be teaching in that class so she asked if they could bump her up another level to the Littles III class.  Sure, why not!!
The Littles III class starts at 7:45 pm ... even better.  Then, we can go straight home, take a bath and go right to bed.

Here's an explanation of each class...
Little 1

Children learn water adjustment skills, voluntary submersion of their face to their ears for 5 seconds, 6 times, independent movement with a noodle and face in water and back float with a noodle for 1 minute.

Little 2
For children who can move independently with their face in the water while on a noodle. Children learn to enter water, turn and swim back to wall with float and to back float with light touch 10 feet, 6 times; to flap their wings while on their back and to swim on their stomach, 10 feet, 6 times.

Little 3

This class is for children who can swim on their stomach doing tiger paddle with face in and flap wings on back with light touch, each 10 feet, 6 times. Children learn to swim on their stomach with flip breaths, 15 feet, 6 times; back float while flapping their wings for 15 feet, 6 times; and independent back float for 1 minute.
