Little Mermaid-Under The Sea

I signed the girls up for an event through the community rec program called "Under the Sea."  They got to hang out and play with Ariel from the Little Mermaid for the day!  The girls had a good time, singing, dancing, playing with stickers, and getting tattoos.

Halloween with Daddy's Work

Brad's office hosted a family Halloween event on Friday, October 19th.  The kids had fun going to all of the different offices on each floor.  Employees volunteered to hand out candy from their office.  After going through the five levels, we went down to the cafeteria for a little party.  Families could decorate cookies, carve pumpkins, make spiders, etc.  The girls had fun and came home with their buckets full of candy.

If you know me well, you know that I love Halloween, ghost stories, the unexplained & all the shows on the Syfy channel.  I love a good scare and will scream at the top of my lungs if I am caught off guard.  I am also one of those that screams at the TV when the dumb blonde is running in her high heels from her attacker. 

I do believe that my mom's house has some paranormal activity going on.  You might think that this is bull crap...but when I was in high school I came home from school, unlocked the back door and saw two full body female apparitions standing in the entry way.  I did not recognize them, they didn't say anything and quite frankly it scared the bejeezus out of me so I turned around and left the house. 
I have seen another scary face at a different time and others have seen a lady in a reflection.  We have had heavy crystal fly across the room and we have been touched in the middle of the night.  Creepy, I know.

So, it was fitting that I attend last weekend's Paranormal Convention at the Shooting Star Casino with my ghostie friends, Christy, Roxie & Jess.  Can you say GIRLS WEEKEND!
 
We were so excited to see all the people whose shows we follow on the Syfy Channel.  We met Steve Gonsalves & Dave Tango from Ghost Hunters; Joe & Kris from Ghost Hunters International; John, Amy & Chris Zaffis from Haunted Collector; Rex Williams from Destination Truth; Kane Hodder who plays Jason from Friday the 13th; and the Midwest Paranormal Group out of Detroit Lakes, MN.

We got to hear and see evidence that Midwest Paranormal found from their investigation of the Kirkbride State Hospital in Fergus Falls.  Two nights in a looney bin...oh my!  They caught a voice on a recorder saying, "Get me out of here!" among many others. 

We also heard more evidence from John Zaffis.  Very, very interesting.  Most of the other presenters did a Q&A Session, but it was still really awesome to hear their stories. 

All of the presenters were very nice & super cool.  Rex invited us to the bar after the show!!  We all had so much fun!  We can't wait to go back again next year!!

 Kane Hodder who plays Jason from Friday the 13th.  Can you tell I'm really scared?  I had a scary face in my other picture with him, but it turned out too blurry.  He was very nice, funny & extremely strong!!

Summer Fun!

Well, it's almost that time of year where we are starting to put all the summer toys away.  Brad is bringing the boat in to get winterized this week.  BooHoo!!
We enjoyed our new boat so much this summer and had a blast spending time with family & friends.

Right after Emmy's birthday in July we got a special visitor!  My brother Bob moved back home from Dallas, TX.  He's living in Montevideo and is working for Coating Specialties.  He's been spending a lot of time on the road.  We are glad to have him back home and Emmy & Erin just love having Uncle Bob here!  We are definitely getting lots of laughs with Bob around. :)

Erin ~ Big Girl Panties

Erin has been doing so well with potty training lately.  Last Friday I decided to put her in just a pair of panties.  She went the whole day without any accidents.  She was so excited for her big accomplishment!  Mommy, daddy & Emmy were excited too!  We rewarded her with a trip to Nickelodeon Universe on Saturday - She LOVES rides!!
Last night we went to Target so that she could pick out her own pack of Big Girl Panties! She picked out a pack of Minnie Mouse panties.  She was so proud! 

I am so glad we are done with diapers/pull-ups!! (well maybe just for night time for a little while, just to be safe) WooHOOOOOOO!!!!

Primetime Emmy Awards

The 64th Primetime Emmy Awards were last Sunday and Miss Emmy was so excited that everyone was all dressed up in pretty gowns and getting "Her" awards!  She jumped up and down and told me that she wanted to go there! 
Miss Emmy, with all your humor & spunk, you might just be on that stage some day!

Here are some updated pictures of the girls from last weekend.  My friend Sam captured some really GREAT shots!  We went to the local train tracks and also Lagoon Park in Montevideo. 
Sam does photography as her hobby, but I keep saying she really should start up her own studio!

Emmy wants long princess hair.  So a couple of weeks ago Darlene told her she should eat Jello to make her hair & nails grow.  She's been eating Jello like crazy lately. 
Brad was reading "Tangled" to the girls before bed when Emmy tells Brad, "Daddy, Rapunzel must eat LOTS of Jello, she's got REALLY, REALLY long hair!"
