New Kid On The Blog

Yesterday was my ultrasound appointment downtown Minneapolis. It was really neat to finally see our little peanut. This baby sure is a mover...wow! It kept moving and moving and moving. However, the ultrasound technician seemed to get all of her scans despite how much of a mover we have. She was really great at pointing out all of the body parts & organs. We got to see the baby yawn and actually watched it swallowing the amniotic fluid. That was really cool! It's amazing how much you can see on the screen...all the organs and body parts are there and it's a tiny little baby formed right in front of you. Right now I'm 20 weeks and the baby is probably only 1 lb and roughly 10 inches long.

We decided not to find out the sex of the baby. We thought that when we got in the ultrasound room we might change our minds...but I just want to have that moment at the end when it comes out. There is no other experience like it.

I am generally a planner, but this is one moment in life that cannot be replaced. Plus, we have a bunch of neutral things from when Emmy was born so we should be just fine.
