Montevideo Swimming - Sections

Breaking a 16-year-old record in the process, Montevideo’s 200 Yard Medley Relay team of Tyler Gort, Tommy Payne, Jack Spaeth, Adam Peters finished 1st in the Sections 3A Boys Swim Meet at the Willmar High School last Friday and Saturday.

The relay team posted a time of 1:40.60 seconds, which bettered the previous school record of 1:40.64, set in 1996 by Golden, Hagen, Christiansen & Bruner.  You had a good run for 16 years boys!  Now it's time for my nephew to grace the record boards for a while!

Tyler also placed 8th in the 100 Yard Breaststroke qualifying for the State Tournament this coming Thursday, Friday & Saturday at the UofM.

The boys started the event with the 200 yard medley and finished with such excitement!  We were all cheering them on and crying at the same time.  I can honestly say, I've never cried at a swim meet before, but it was so exciting and emotional.  Watching the boys get that excited after the event was so awesome!
Also, I was sitting next to my dad who was cheering and crying right along with me!

Way to go Tyler & Team!!  We are so very proud of you!!  Can' wait to cheer you on at State!!
