Monte Visit

We took a drive out to Monte for the weekend and hung out with my family. Grandma Linda watched the girls while we went out for a couple of drinks downtown Saturday night. I certainly have outgrown the downtown scene. However, we did have a good time celebrating a bit with Scott. I wasn't able to be at home for his 40th birthday so we celebrated with him a week later.
Emmy had fun twirling grandma Linda's battons. She was teaching Emmy how to march.
On Sunday we drove out to the Swensson Farm Museum for their 1:00 open house tour. I thought we were going to be the only ones present. I was shocked...there were at least 20-25 people walking around the house/farm. It's been so long since I've been out there and things sure do appear differently some 20 years later. The Swensson Farm is located about a quarter mile from our family farm. We grew up going out here for Threshing shows, etc.

Brad had never been inside the house. We've always tried to scare him late at night with a drive-by. We dared him to go knock on the front door on Halloween night last year and he did it. I sat in the car and watched. Nothing happened, but he's heard so many stories from us about how this place is haunted and he had to experience it for himself.

He enjoyed the daytime tour with us. My mom was giving us a personal tour of the house. She knew some of the family members who actually lived there. It was fun to hear her personal stories.

In one of the basements. They must have done some work down here. I don't remember it being this clean. I remember a dirt floor.
